Venetia’s Yarn Shop is a fabulous yarn shop in the market town of Fakenham, near Norwich. Please do come in personally to browse and get advice. Besides yarn and accessories, we offer pattern support, workshops, knitalongs and regular knit and natter sessions. See our opening hours below.

Yarn

Our focus is on high quality, sustainable yarn. Where possible, we stock British yarn, such as West Yorkshire Spinners, Cambrian Mountain, John Arbon Textiles, Jamieson & Smith. But we also have some amazing yarns from elsewhere, including, Lang Yarns, Schoppelwolle, Hjertegarn, Knitting for Olive and Malabrigo. In addition, we have our own range of Venetia’s hand dyed yarns, along with a selection from Qing Fibres.

Workshops and Classes

You can find a range of workshops and classes in the shop – we have beginners knitting and crochet classes, sock knitting classes and we also provide a variety of one off workshops over the year, together with classes for kids in the summer months

We offer an annual 2 night Summer Retreat at the wonderful Art Nouveau Cliftonville Hotel in Cromer in Norfolk – the perfect getaway to spend all your time doing the craft you love

In the shop we stock a range of embroidery and darning threads, from crewel wool to silk, to meet the needs of all stitchers.

We have a strong focus on natural fibres and British wool from a range of suppliers. We also stock hand-dyed yarns, many from local independent dyers.

Buy a Gift Card

If you don’t know what to buy someone, please do ask us for suggestions. We’re more than happy to help. But in some cases we realise that a gift card is a great idea, allowing the person to choose for themselves.

Knitting and Crochet Classes

We offer knitting, crochet and needlework workshops and courses for all levels. We also have sociable groups for stitchers of all kinds and abilities. Our ‘knitalongs’ are organised on a regular basis. See what’s coming up next in The Classes section.

Venetia moved to Norfolk from Hackney in 2012. She is passionate about quality, sustainability and good customer service, and has a great love of colour and texture, all of which is reflected in the Yarn Shop.
