Knitting Retreat 6/7 April 2025

We are delighted to announce that we have arranged our first knitting retreat for Sunday 6 and Monday 7 April 2025.

In our fast-paced, always-on world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and disconnected. For many of us, finding time to relax and recharge seems almost impossible. But what if there was a way to not only relax but also indulge in your passion for knitting, all while surrounded by like-minded crafters in a serene, picturesque setting? Look no further.

Imagine waking up to the sound of birds chirping, with the morning sun filtering through the trees. You’re far away from the demands of work and home, and the stress of daily life. Instead of rushing through your day, you have the luxury of time—time to knit, time to think, and time to breathe. We are offering you the opportunity to spend two peaceful days with fellow knitters who share your passion in the luxurious setting of Little Massingham Manor in the heart of Norfolk.

The Manor is set in 63 acres of woodland and beautiful gardens, ideal for wandering about in should you get tired of knitting (unlikely I know). The Retreat will be in the Studio, a newly built space overlooking the gardens. You will be welcome to bring whatever projects you might wish to work on, but we are also offering a special project for you should you choose to do it. And very excitingly, Jenn from Fibreworkshop will be joining us on one of the days to talk about the amazing work she does with Norfolk Horn yarn and vegetable dyes.

The Retreat will start at 10am on the Sunday morning with coffee and pastries. Lunch and dinner will be included on the Sunday and on Monday there will again be coffee and pastries in the morning and lunch before we depart at 4pm. Tea, coffee and cake will be available throughout both days as well.

Mandy and I will be there to guide and encourage you with your projects, to offer advice and help should you need it. And of course there will be a goody bag! No retreat is complete without one.

Prices

The base cost of the 2 day Retreat is £300 including all meals and other refreshments (with the exception of alcohol). This does NOT include overnight accommodation as we know that some people will be able to attend without staying overnight.

There are only 6 bedrooms available in the Manor for overnight stays, so we are offering them on a first come, first served basis. Each is different and differently priced, but they are all beautifully appointed. We know this because we have seen them and were very tempted not to come home at all! When you decide which room you want, we will add the cost to the basic price and invoice you accordingly.

The details of the rooms are set out below and the prices include breakfast in the Manor’s special Breakfast Room with views over the gardens.

In order to secure your place we are asking for a 50% deposit by 10 September, with the balance payable by 31 January 2025.
