Each pack contains six skeins of Soie d’Algers in different shades.
Soie d’Alger is made up of 7 strands of spun silk, loosely plied so that it can be easily separated.
The name ‘Alger’ refers to the process of creating the threads from the best quality spun silk (called strusas) which gives it an unrivalled consistency, lustre and softness.
The silk can be used for the following:
Carpets, tapestry and embroidery creation and restoration, trimmings, cross stitch, counted thread, needlepoint, hardanger, lace making, blackwork, ribbon embroidery, stumpwork, smocking, quilting, crazy quilting, crewel work and miniature
